Now that we're adding a new dog to the family, we're starting to round up the associated costs. Even though we currently have a dog, it doesn't mean that we already have everything we need. There are a few things they can't share.
Here's our current tally:
- Humane Society Charges (adoption fee): $117.00
- New Dog Crate: $60.89
- Dog Collar: $6.85
- 2 Dog Bowls (2 x $5.49): $10.98
- Gentle Leader Collar: $18.17 (A necessity when leash training your dog - always remember: Be The Pack Leader!)
- 4-for-3 Amazon Promotion: -$5.49
= Total = 208.40
All of these items included free 2nd-day shipping, leveraging my amazon prime membership.
There are a few costs that we haven't incurred yet:
- Additional Food Costs = ?? - Though this should be fairly minimal. We get very good healthy food for our current dog, but she doesn't go through it that quickly. Being that we're brining in the same-size dog, I'm anticipating that the food costs will roughly be doubled.
- Additional Medicine from Spay = ?? - The humane society adoption includes a spay coupon. But, we'll still need to pay for pain killers and any additional medicine needed.
- Misc = ?? - Things like "Poop bags". These purchases are very minimal and I'm anticipating a double in cost to also be very minimal.
